Statement of Faith

                                           Statement of Faith

1. The Holy Scriptures
WE BELIEVE the Holy Scriptures (66 Books, apocrypha not included) of the Old and New Testaments to be the only verbally plenary inspired, infallible Word of God; inerrant in the original writings, and providentially preserved in its inspired state in the King James Bible, thus maintaining its infallibility and inerrancy. We believe that the King James Bible is the only Bible in the English language that God would have us to use, preach, teach, study, and memorize from, because it is the God preserved translation of the Masoretic Text and the Textus Receptus for the English speaking people. The Bible teaches that the providentially preserved Holy Scriptures are and shall remain the only complete unerring and unchanging standard by which all human conduct, creeds and opinions should be tried. (2 Tim. 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:19-21; Matt. 5:18; John 16:12, 13; Ps.119:9, 11, 89; I Peter 1:23; Rom 15:4; Rev. 22:18-19; Is40:8; Matt. 24:35; Prov. 30:5-7; Ps 12:6-7; Matt 4:4; Deut 4:2; John 10:35; Is 59:21)
2. The Godhead
WE BELIEVE in one God (monotheism), eternally existing in three Persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit -- the Trinity.  Each of the members of the Godhead are co-equal in power and glory and are co-eternal. (Deut 6:4; Psalm 90:2; Exodus 3:14; Matt. 28:19; John 8:58; Hebrews 9:14; I John 5:7)
3. Jesus Christ
WE BELIEVE in the deity of Jesus Christ, that He was supernaturally begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, and is therefore fully God and fully man at the same time.  He is completely sinless, omnipotent, and omniscient; the only Savior of sinners, the King of kings, and the Lord of lords. (Matt. 1:20-21; Luke 1:35-36, 2:10-11)
WE BELIEVE in the literal, physical, bodily resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His literal, physical, bodily ascension into Heaven and in His present work there as High Priest and Advocate for us. (Heb. 9:24; 10:20-21; I Tim. 2:5-6; I John 2:12)
4. The Holy Spirit
WE BELIEVE that at the time of the New Birth the believer receives the Holy Spirit and by Him is baptized into the body of Christ, that the believer is forever indwelt by the Holy Spirit as Comforter, Teacher, and Guide, and if yielded to Him, is filled by the Spirit and is empowered for service.  God bestows to all believers gifts according as it pleases Him, for the purpose of the edification of the body of Christ as we minister in the sphere of that gift. However, the sign gifts as specified in I Corinthians 12-14 were given to confirm the Word of God in the days when the gospel was preached without the complete Bible.  Since they have fulfilled their purpose, they have ceased.  (I Cor. 12:4-11, 13:8-13; Romans 6:13,12:1-7; Mark 16:15-20 John 1:32-34; Acts 15:8)
5. Man
WE BELIEVE man was created by God and is not the product of some evolutionary process.  We believe man was created in the image of God, that he willfully sinned against God, and thereby incurred not only physical death but also that spiritual death which is eternal separation from God and an everlasting abode in a literal Hell.  All human beings are henceforth born with a sinful nature and, in the case of those who reach the age of moral responsibility, become sinners by choice and practice in thought, word, and deed.  Sin creates a debt, which no man can pay for himself.  Thus man has no ability whatsoever to save himself and is utterly unable to remedy his lost condition.  (Rom. 3:23; 5:12; Gen. 1:26-27; I Cor. 11:7; Ephesians 2:1, 2)
6. Salvation
WE BELIEVE that the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross and shed His sinless blood for our sins, that He was buried and arose alive and triumphant from the grave, and in so doing made the necessary sacrifice for our atonement, became the substitute for our redemption, and thereby paid our sin debt and purchased our salvation for us.  Salvation is by the grace of God, based solely upon the merit of what Christ has done for us, and is received as a free gift by a repentant sinner who in faith trusts Christ as Lord and Savior.  (Romans 2:25; Ephesians 2:8, 9; Colossians 1: 14; I John 2:1, 2)
7. Eternal Security
WE BELIEVE each believer, at the time he puts his trust in Christ, is born into the family of God and does instantaneously become a son or daughter of the living God.  Thus, we are redeemed by the Lord's purchase price which He paid for us; we are preserved in Christ and we are secure in Christ, possessing everlasting, eternal life; and we are sealed for eternity.  We can never lose our salvation under any condition. This is NOT a license to sin, but liberty to serve the Lord Jesus Christ who has saved FROM sin and not IN sin.  (John 6:37-40, 10:28-29; Romans 8:38-39; John 5:24; Ephesians 1:13)
8. The Local Church
WE BELIEVE the church is a local, independent assembly of baptized believers who have banded together for the purpose of evangelism, discipleship, and fellowship, and that every Christian should commit himself to such a local church and serve the Lord through that church. (Matt. 16:18; 28:18-20; Eph. 3:20-21)  Each local church is to be independent and autonomous and free from political authority or ecclesiastical hierarchy, the Lord Jesus being the only Head.  Para-church organizations are unbiblical because they usurp authority from the local church. (Eph 4:15; 5:23 Col 1:18)  We believe the Lord Jesus Christ gave two, and only two, ordinances to the local church: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.  Every person who has been born again is to seek a New Testament church & obey Christ's command to be baptized by the authority of the church. In obedience to the Lord, he or she should be immersed in water to demonstrate his faith in Christ and to typify the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.  The Lord's Supper, or Communion, should be observed often as a symbolic memorial of what Christ has done for the believer.  We reject the false teaching of transubstantiation; that is, the false notion that the elements of the Lord’s Table are, upon consumption, changed into the "substance" of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.  A person's participation in these two ordinances is the answer of a good conscience toward God and has nothing to do with his salvation.  (Matt. 10:32-33, 26:17-29, 28:18-20; Luke 9:23; Acts 16:30-34; Romans 6:3-5, 10:9-11;1 Corinthians 11 :28, 29; 1 Peter 3:21)  We believe the Lord commissioned the church to spread the Gospel to the uttermost part of the world; therefore, we carry forth an extensive program of soul-winning evangelism in the homeland and a worldwide missionary program abroad, with the goal of winning people to Christ, baptizing them, and teaching them everything the Lord has commanded us. (Matt. 28:18-20; Acts 1:8)
9. The Eternal State
WE BELIEVE in the literal, physical, bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved to eternal life and the unsaved to eternal damnation. At the instance of death, the believer in soul and spirit enters into the very presence of God, while the body is committed to the grave, where it sleeps and awaits the future resurrection. For the unbeliever, death means the departure of the soul and spirit into hell-fire, with the body also awaiting a future resurrection, at which time death and hell shall be cast into the Lake of Fire.  (Luke 16:19-31; John 5:28, 29, 14:1-3; 2 Corinthians 5:8; 1 Thess.4:13-18; Revelation 20:5-6, 12-15, 21:1-22:21)
10. The Second Coming of Christ and Future Events
WE BELIEVE in the Rapture-the personal, premillennial, pretribulational and imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ "in the air." This has been the "Blessed Hope" of every born-again believer in the Church Age. At that time He will receive unto Himself the resurrected bodies of those who have "died in Christ" and also all those who are presently alive and "in Christ."  (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 5:6-10; 1 Corinthians 15:50-55; Acts 1:11; Titus 2:13)  After the rapture, all believers will stand before the judgment seat of Christ, where our works will be judged, not to determine salvation but rewards.  (Rom. 14:10; 2 Cor. 5:10; 1 Cor. 3:10-15; Rev.22:12)  After seven years of tribulation on earth, Christ will return "with His saints" to execute judgment upon the ungodly nations before the inauguration of His earthly millennial reign. (Jude 14, 15; Matthew 25:31-46)  The Lord will cast the anti-christ and the false prophet into the lake of fire, send Satan into the abyss and establish His earthly kingdom. The Lord Jesus Christ will then reign one thousand years, thus literally fulfilling the covenant promises made to a believing remnant of Israel through the Patriarchs of the Old Testament.  (Isaiah 11:16; Revelation 19:19-20; 20:1-6)  After the earthly reign of one thousand years, He will bring all the unsaved dead to the judgment of the Great White Throne and all who stand before that Throne, along with Satan, will be cast into the lake of fire forever.  (Revelation 20:10-15; Matthew 7:21-23)
11. Personal Separation
WE BELIEVE that Christians should be separated unto God and separated from the world and that all believers are called into a life of personal separation from all worldly and sinful practices. (James 4:4; Rom. 12:1-2; II Cor. 6:14-18)
WE BELIEVE a Christian should seek to live a life that is clean, holy, and above reproach.  He should exhibit both attitude and actions so as to be of good report.  Practices which are questionable or which may cause another person to stumble or which may mar the testimony of Christ should be avoided altogether.  Therefore personal standards of demeanor and deportment are expected.  (Eph. 2:10; 4:1; 5:1-4; Phil 1:27; 3:14-21; 4:8-9)
